Sleeping with the Past est le vingt-deuxième album studio d'Elton John, sorti en 1989. Il contient les chansons Sacrifice et Whispers.

Dans la discographie d'Elton John, Sleeping With The Past est assez révélateur du son adopté par celui-ci dans les années 1980 : nappes de claviers synthétiques, boîtes à rythme et echo prononcé sur la voix. Il constitue donc aussi bien la suite logique de Reg Strikes Back (1988) que l'annonce de The One (1992).
