The Grammy award-winning music icon now has a lifestyle brand in the works.
Dolly Parton inked her first global licensing deal with managing company IMG, she announced Thursday.
The multiyear partnership, which comes after the singer signed to WME (an IMG partner company) in 2018, will allow her to release her first lifestyle brand with offerings in fashion, jewelry, home goods and accessories.
“I am excited to be working with IMG on a global scale to give my fans products that they will cherish for years to come,” the eight-time Grammy award-winner tweeted. “You might even see my mug on a mug!”
In a statement, vp licensing Gary Krakower noted, “Dolly Parton is an international icon and we are thrilled to be working with her. Together, we look forward to building cohesive lifestyle brand products that will celebrate Dolly and bring her iconic style and personality to her millions of fans worldwide in engaging new ways.”
Another to tap into Parton's fashion influence was Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele. For his spring-summer 2019 runway show in Paris, the Italian designer emblazoned the "Jolene" singer’s face on the back of a cutoff denim jacket and paired it with a two-tone shirt and leggings.
Fans will have to wait to hear the exact offerings and release date of Parton's lifestyle brand — among her devotees are Big Little Lies actress Reese Witherspoon (who wrote about her obsession with Parton in her book Whiskey in a Teacup) and Miley Cyrus (who has endlessly professed her love for the 73-year-old and performed alongside her at the 2019 Grammys).
Meanwhile, fans can get their Dolly fix this fall with the premiere of the eight-part anthology film series Heartstrings, released through Parton’s Sandollar Productions on Netflix. Each film will focus on one of her songs, which have helped her to garner 25 RIAA certified Gold, Platinum and multi-Platinum awards. The country icon also contributed to the soundtrack of Netflix's Jennifer Aniston starrer Dumplin' last year.
