Keith Richards scaled up enthusiasm among Rolling Stones concertgoers by posting a video of himself greeting fans ahead of the show.

The video was posted just over a day before the band's scheduled performance, which is expected to see over 60,000 fans descend upon the arena this evening.

Keef looked surprisingly coy as he said, "Hi everybody, I'm still in Dublin.

"Just finished the last rehearsal, the last lick of paint on the machinery, and looking forward to the show on Thursday. See you there."

The Stones founder followed up the video with photographs of the band's rehearsals inside the GAA stadium yesterday afternoon.

Frontman Mick Jagger also treated fans to a preview of the event with a video tweet on Tuesday.

He said: "Warming up the stage at Croke Park, see you on Thursday."

With this level of buildup from the blues rockers, the band's tour opener looks fiercely promising.
