According to a release, the album will include 15 tracks and features reggae, rock, country, and blues influences. The first single, “Trouble,” will drop July 17, and will include drums by Steve Jordan, guitar support from Waddy Wachtel and Bernard Fowler’s backup vocals.
“I had a ball making this new record and working with Steve Jordan and Waddy Wachtel again,” Richards said in a statement. “There’s nothing like walking into a studio and having absolutely no idea what you’re going to come out with on the other end. If you’re looking for ‘Trouble,’ you’ve come to the right place.”
Other track titles are “Long Overdue,” “Lovers Plea,” “Nothing On Me,” “Amnesia,” “Robbed Blind,” “Blues In The Morning,” and “Illusion,” which was co-written and recorded with Norah Jones.
Richards teased this album earlier this year, and told Rolling Stone that he may tour in support of the solo record. At the time he was beginning a Rolling Stones tour, and when asked about doing a show on his own, Richards said, “Usually if I put a record out, I do some road work. So, it’s possible.”
The Rolling Stones are currently on tour, and dates and tickets can be found on the band’s website.
