The Rolling Stones recorded two versions of “Brown Sugar” back in the ’70s: The one that ultimately appeared on 1971’s Sticky Fingers, and one featuring guitar by Eric Clapton that they’re releasing as part of the upcoming Sticky Fingers reissue.
In recent months, the Stones have also released alternates versions of other now-classic songs including “Wild Horses,” which they gave an acoustic makeover, and “Dead Flowers.” And the nostalgia doesn’t end there: They played “Hang On Sloopy” for the first time in over 40 years at an Ohio show this past weekend.
The Sticky Fingers reissue arrives June 8, and the band is touring now. See the list of dates here, and listen to “Brown Sugar” below.
